  • Paul Hewitt cashed in on Georgia Tech’s amazing NCAA run. He just signed a contract worth $7.1 million over 6 years, with an automatic yearly rollover. They locked him by requiring him to pay half the remaining compensation if he leaves for another college job. Interestingly, he can leave for the NBA for free.

  • Roy Williams is the first coach at a top school that I can think of who has admitted to changing his recruiting strategy. Roy says he likely won’t recruit any top-10 big men anymore, as they’ll likely skip college for the NBA.

  • Virginia big man Donte Minter had a solid freshman season and plans to do even better next year. He’s a wide body with a surprisingly soft touch. Being left-handed gives him an advantage as well, as defenders aren’t used to his angles of attack.
