  • Bill Simmons has a might fine wrapup of the NBA finals. I think the Mailman to the Knicks joke was the best.

  • BACLO founder Victor Conte sent a letter to George Bush offering to “reveal everything he knows” about athletes and coaches in return for a light sentence that will keep him out of jail. It’ll be very interesting to see where this goes. I bet there are some very nervous, muscular athletes out there.

  • This is what I wanted to say, but didn’t have the talent to do so.

  • No!

Marv Albert was let go by the MSG Network and will no longer be calling Knick games. That’s just ridiculous.

  • Paul Hewitt cashed in on Georgia Tech’s amazing NCAA run. He just signed a contract worth $7.1 million over 6 years, with an automatic yearly rollover. They locked him by requiring him to pay half the remaining compensation if he leaves for another college job. Interestingly, he can leave for the NBA for free.

  • University of Colorado President Elizabeth Hoffman claims that the “c-word” can be used as a “term of endearment”. Remember that on Valentine’s Day, boys. (Thanks to the Sports Frog for the headline – it was too good not to use).

  • Let’s just say this isn’t exactly Rockne, Parsegian and Holtz. Nonetheless, here’s Frank Dascenzo’s ranking of Duke’s football coaches.

  • Blame Kobe

This article does a great job of expressing many of my thoughts after watching Kobe and the Lakers in these Finals. Kobe just doesn’t get it yet. Maybe he will eventually. He’s still young and even Jordan took several years to learn how to use his teammates.

  • This rumor is gaining steam, so I’ll finally link to it. Andy Katz reports that Bobby Knight would listen if The Ohio State University gave him a call. He might want to see how much NCAA trouble they’re gonna be in first.

  • Roy Williams is the first coach at a top school that I can think of who has admitted to changing his recruiting strategy. Roy says he likely won’t recruit any top-10 big men anymore, as they’ll likely skip college for the NBA.
