StateFans Bubbling Over

This StateFans Nation piece on the NCAA Tournament selection process is so lengthy and thorough that I just don’t know what to say about it.
They make some excellent points, but leave a lot of the conclusions, particularly applying this piece to current ACC teams, as an exercise for the reader.
One point they made that relates to my post from yesterday. As I pointed out, there are currently nine ACC teams with bubble-worthy (at least) resumes. StateFans points out that ACC Tournament games seem to be weighted very heavily in judging ACC bubble teams. Well, with 12 ACC teams, at least three of those nine eligible squads are going to lose in the first round. It’s like an automatic limiting factor. I’d bet that you’ll see at least one ACC team throw away an NCAA bid by losing on that first Thursday of the ACC Tourney.
