There was a great story in the NBA last night, but for some reason it got buried behind the stories of Shaq and Kobe. Hell, even in the very game, Stevie Francis’ dunks got more attention (and damn, those were two impressive dunks! Don’t forget, he’s only 6’3″.). The story I’m talking about is the return of Grant Hill. Yeah, it was only one game, but it was a good one. He played 33 minutes and scored 20 points.
What a lot of people seem to have forgetten is that three years ago, before his chronic ankle problems, Hill was among the top 5-10 players in the league. When the Magic signed him and Tracy McGrady in the same offseason, Grant Hill was the big name. If Hill had stayed healthy, McGrady would probably still be in Orlando and they would have been a force.
On top of that, Grant Hill is one of the true good guys in the NBA. Hell, he’s on of the all-time good guys.
